Delete a client safely
Deleting a client is immediate and permanent. Before you reach for it, this article explains exactly what gets removed, what only gets unlinked, and how the confirmation step is designed to stop you doing this by accident.
BEFORE YOU START
There is no undo. If any of this client's bundles, participant assignments or certificate templates might still be needed, export or note down what you need before deleting — once confirmed, the data is gone immediately, not archived.
Open the delete confirmation page
Deletion always goes through a dedicated confirmation page — there's no quick delete from the list.
Open Clients and choose the trash icon on the client's row.
Read the summary before confirming
The confirmation page lists exactly what is tied to this client, with a count for each.
Confirm the deletion
Type delete into the confirmation field. Permanently Delete Client stays disabled until the word matches exactly.
Choose Permanently Delete Client. You're returned to the Clients list with a confirmation that the client and its associated data have been deleted.
A COMMON MISTAKE
Deleting a client is not the same as removing a single participant's history. If your goal is to clear one participant's data rather than an entire client, use Total Delete on the participant instead — deleting the client here takes every bundle, participant assignment and certificate template belonging to it.
If something isn't working
What next
If you're clearing out a single participant rather than an entire client, there's a narrower tool for that.
