Add courses to a bundle

Courses in Bundle is where you decide which courses make up a bundle, whether each one is required or optional, and how translated versions of the same course line up together.

BEFORE YOU START

You need at least one Published course belonging to the same client as the bundle. The dropdown only ever shows courses in that client, matching the bundle's language section, and not already sitting somewhere else in this bundle.

Add the first course

An empty bundle shows a single form in the middle of the tab instead of a list.

Open the bundle's Courses in Bundle tab.

Pick a course from the dropdown. Options are grouped under Internal {Language} Courses and, where any exist, External {Language} Courses — the second group is covered in a separate article. Choose Add to Bundle.

Once a bundle holds at least one course, this same picker moves to the bottom of the tab under an Add a Course heading, now next to a Type field.

Required or Optional

Every course in a bundle carries one of two settings, and it changes what counts toward the bundle being finished.

Choose Required or Optional in the Type field when adding a course, or change it any time afterwards using the Required? dropdown on that course's own row — it saves the moment you change it, no separate save button.

REQUIRED Counts toward whether a participant has completed the bundle, and toward the bundle certificate if one is assigned.

OPTIONAL Available to participants inside the bundle, but a participant can be marked as having completed the bundle without ever touching it.

Use Optional for background material, and Required for anything that must actually be done before the bundle — and any certificate attached to it — counts as finished.

Each course row shows its status pill, its Required/Optional dropdown and a remove button.

Remove a course

The small × button on a course's row asks for confirmation, then removes it from this bundle. It doesn't touch the course itself, or any progress a participant already made on it elsewhere — it simply stops counting toward this particular bundle.

GOOD TO KNOW

If a course you expect isn't in the dropdown, check three things in order: its status is Published (not Archived), it belongs to the same client as the bundle, and it isn't already sitting in this bundle under a different language section.

A COMMON MISTAKE

Marking a course Required and then forgetting about it. If nobody in Results ever reaches "Complete", check whether a course you meant as background reading is still set to Required.

If something isn't working

"All available published courses are already in this bundle"

Every published course belonging to this client, in this language, has already been added. Publish another course on the client first if you need more.

A "Language coverage warning" appears at the top of the editor

One of the bundle's language sections has no courses, or the number of courses differs between languages. See "Offer a bundle in several languages" for how sections work.

"Please select a course"

The Add a Course form was submitted with nothing chosen in the dropdown.
